The Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) is operated for the Department of Energy by Bechtel Bettis, Inc., and is located at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). NRF receives, examines and prepares naval spent nuclear fuel for temporary storage. The information derived from the examinations provides engineering data on nuclear reactor environments, material behavior, and design performance. This data is used to develop new technology and to improve the cost-effectiveness of existing designs.

NRF is seeking a Radiological Controls Training Instructor to perform the following duties:

*  Conduct training in all facets, requirements and disciplines of radiological controls.

*  Participate in any assigned emergency planning duties, radiological spill response training   and each additional qualification courses as required.

*  Assume the responsibility for developing, evaluating, maintaining, and updating one or more of the core radiological training courses.

*  Serve as primary contact with other program sites as primary instructor for that assigned area of    responsibility.

*  Assist managers and employees throughout the facility in interpreting policies, practices, procedures,   and regulations pertaining to radiological controls and emergency planning.

*  Develop, conduct, and grade written examinations.

*  Prepare lesson plans and presentation materials.

*  Present training classes in a professional and interactive manner.

*  Develop, conduct and grade examinations of workers abilities to incorporate practical applications with radiological safety requirements.

Education/Experience Requirements: BS, BA, with a GPA/3.2 or higher from an accredited college/university.  Will consider candidate with 12 years of Radiological Controls Technician experience or four years of equivalent instructor experience with naval reactors type of radiological controls

 

Must be interested in developing skills using advanced presentation techniques and software.  Radiological Controls Technician Qualification School in Virginia may be required, if not already completed or a current naval reactors qualification program.  Fluent in Microsoft Office applications is beneficial.  Highly developed interpersonal skills are a must.

US Citizenship is Required.
