Commercial Vehicle Group, a recognized leader in commercial vehicle solutions for the commercial, industrial, municipal, construction, agricultural, and marine industries is currently recruiting for a Quality Technician at our Michigan City, Indiana location.  Our Michigan City location designs and manufactures Sprague Devices brand of application specific windshield wiper systems for all segments of the commercial vehicle market.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Providing assistance to production to ensure achievement of organizational goals. Resolving customer complaints and initiating corrective actions. Developing supplier relationships in partnership with Materials/Purchasing. Developing/implementing/updating process procedures. Assisting in identifying cost reductions/value analysis for improvement of processes, products & methods. Working in cooperation with engineers in conducting quality audits and capability studies to monitor, control & improve the manufacturing process. Identifying and providing training for production associates. Maintaining reporting system for monitoring day-to-day activities (PPM). Maintaining historical data on products/processes for reference. Developing/updating/implementing procedures, work instructions, and set-up instructions. Conducting/performing/assisting with all DFMEA and PFMEA activities Reviewing Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) from suppliers as required. Investigating returns to develop corrective action plans. Preparing/submitting all Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation as required. Maintain/monitor the manufacturing scrap analysis program. 

Candidates should possess an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) in a related field and 3 - 5 years experience in manufacturing/inspection processes or the equivalent in combined education and experience.  Must have a familiarity with work measurement techniques and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).  Knowledge of TS16949 or QS9000 series is preferred.
