Description: This position is responsible for compliance with all State and Federal safety and environmental laws that impact the Houston and Mississauga facilities as directed by the Manager, Operations. It provides technical guidance and assurance programs aimed at ensuring that personnel at each plant are maintaining effective quality, safety and environmental compliance programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Research, develop, and review all Sprecher + Schuh safety procedures to ensure compliance with all OSHA and Corporate Safety policies and procedures. - Investigate work related injuries, develop corrective and preventative actions, and conduct follow-up reviews to ensure effectiveness. Maintain suitable metrics to track work related injuries. - Develop and conduct annual safety and environmental training programs. - Organize and manage various levels of safety and environmental teams and committees. Chairs the Emergency Response Team, Safety and Environmental Committee, Executive Safety Committee and Executive Quality Council. - Review all workers compensation claims and develop return-to-work action plans. - Establish and promote policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, local and corporate safety and environmental regulations. - Review and communicate Rockwell Automations safety policy and procedures to all associates, contractors, and site visitors. - Assess facility for personal protective equipment needs and ensure an adequate inventory is stocked. - Prepares reports and presentations to update management on the status of safety and environmental programs. - Oversees all quality, safety and environmental audits at the Houston and Mississauga facilities. Document areas for improvement and develop implementation schedules. - Develops and implement waste minimization programs for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Involve all levels of employees in recycling program activities. - Supports the development of annual quality, safety and environmental goals for both locations. - Develops effective working relationship(s) with HQ Quality, Safety and Environmental personnel and other Rockwell coordinators. - Creates and maintain a library of State and Federal regulations, permits, required annual reports, hazardous waste manifests, etc. Organize documentation to assure successful completion of internal or external compliance audit(s). - Compiles environmental data for regulatory reports on air and water emissions and generation of hazardous waste. Coordinates and oversees the sampling and monitoring process to obtain Federal and State permits as required. - Monitors and maintains the Quality corrective action system (CAP System). - Develops, implements, and maintains measurement and assessment methodologies to evaluate progress, performance, and continual quality improvement. - Manage warranty return process assuring prompt response to the customer and implementation of corrective action to maintain the highest quality of product going to the customer. - Provides project management leadership to resolve complex issues relating to quality issues. Offers knowledge and implementation experience with quality management systems and project management techniques. - Supports Rockwell Automation goals and objectives for quality system compliance and world-class performance of all sites. - Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS Strong technical and commercial skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory Computer competence in spreadsheets, database, word documents , Powerpoint, is required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science (BS) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years experience in the Quality field. Prior experience in Safety and Environmental Compliance is a plus.
