This Position:  Quality Engineer  (Beaverton, Oregon)

Micro Power Electronics is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, team oriented person to assert themselves in an exciting world of multiple and varied projects.  Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, proactive and detailed individual who can make critical decisions regarding NPI projects, Corrective and Preventive action issues, and be a key contributor during both customer and regulatory audits.  Top-notch communication skills, creativity, and the desire to succeed are a must!

 

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (include, but not limited to)

1.       Manage customer Quality issues for assigned customers to resolve issues and improve customer partnerships.

2.       Represent Quality on NPI teams for assigned customers by developing quality and inspection plans, sourcing strategies and first article inspections.

3.       For assigned commodities manage supplier corrective action and supplier improvement.

4.       Support improvements to Beaverton ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and FDA QSR programs including database development.

5.       Support company wide quality initiatives as applicable.

6.       Support additional projects, Lean activities and Quality improvement as assigned. 

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)

1.       Provide quality training.

2.       SPC, Lean, Internal auditing, Six Sigma.

3.       Support database development and training as applicable.

4.       Support company wide continuous improvement and initiative efforts.

 

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

 

Educational and Skill Requirements:

1.      At least one of the following:

·         5 years experience in Quality, with at least 2 years in a Quality Engineering.

·         Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years experience in ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.  

·         ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and at least 2 years experience in ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.  

2.      Experience with high tech. mechanical and electrical products

3.      Strong team, communication and problem solving skills

4.      General knowledge of MRP systems including BOMs, revision control and ECOs

5.      General software application skills: Excel, Word, Outlook and Access.

 

Physical Requirements:

1.   Travel, including International, to suppliers and customers as needed.

2.      Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.

3.      Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a computer. 

 

Desirable Traits and Experience:

1.      Enjoy working with a wide range of people, cultures and products.

2.      Able to prioritize and multitask.  

3.      Outsourcing experience, particularly Asia.

 

Equipment Used:

1.      Personal computer and telephone system

2.      Measurement devices such as: calipers, micrometers and voltmeters.

 

Work Schedule:

1.      Generally 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, with additional time as needed.

2.      Less than 1% unplanned absenteeism is expected.
