Normaco, Inc., a member of Johnson && Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Quality Control Chemist located in Athens, GA. Noramco, Inc. produces a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients and is a major worldwide producer of medicinal analgesics, pharmaceutical intermediates and synthetic fine organic chemicals. It also produces monomers and polymers for pharmaceutical and medical devices. The Quality Control Chemist will test and analyze raw materials, in-process samples and products such as chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients to determine stability, purity, chemical content and other characteristics. Secondary functions involve supporting lab improvement projects, method validations, stability analysis, and equipment qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related area of study along with 4 years of direct work experience with modern wet chemical, spectroscopic and chromatographic analyses is required; or an equal combination of education and work experience would be acceptable. Must have at least 2 years work experience in the pharmaceutical/chemical industry or other cGMP/cGLP environment. Must have demonstrated knowledge of chemical manufacturing control operations and GMP/GLP regulations. This position requires the flexibility to work all shifts in order to support a 24/7 operation. Experience with method transfer and method validation would be an asset. Prior experience interpreting and writing regulatory filing would be a plus. It would be an asset to have exposure to and/or a certification in Process Excellence/Lean or ASQ. Prior experience in documenting change control would be an asset. Prior use of an ERP and a LIMs system would be an asset. This position is located in Athens, GA.
