The Science and Systems Engineering Solutions Business Unit (BU) currently has a contingent position available in its Applied Technology Solutions Division for a Quality Assurance Manager. Upon contract award, this position would support the Federal Aviation Administration’s Headquarters office in Washington, DC. The Quality Assurance Manager will be a key member of the program management team and interface with the customer, other vendors, and the engineering team. It is anticipated the primary work location will be downtown Washington, DC, near multiple public transportation venues. As an integrated team member, the Quality Assurance Manager will establish and maintain a process for quality management of a new hardware system and manage quality control/ assurance throughout the system life cycle. This position will also oversee formal and informal reviews throughout the system development life cycle, documenting approved changes to the baseline, and maintaining a database of those changes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related discipline. A minimum of 10 years experience, 3 of which shall be within the last 5 years in quality management, configuration management, verification and validation, system testing and integration, system metrics and their application to system quality assessment. Candidate must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of FAA’s system development life cycle quality assurance/ configuration management processes for deploying National Airspace System (NAS) certified hardware. The candidate must also be able to communicate in verbal and written formats clearly. The candidate must possess the ability to work independently as well as within a group interfacing with various professional disciplines across several time zones. The candidate must have MS Office, Project, and FAA Web CM experience.

US travel is estimated at 25%.

Candidate must be a United States citizen or a resident alien who has been lawfully admitted for permanent residence in accordance with the Alien Registration policy established by the office of U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Candidates must also be able to submit to and complete the appropriate background investigation and security screening via the Standard Form (SF) 85P, Questionnaire for Public Trust Positions.
