The Company

Our client, a manufacturer of food products is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for their facility located in the East Bay area.

 

The Opportunity

The Quality Assurance Manager will ensure that the food processing facility maintains the highest level of product quality, sanitation and food safety in accordance with all regulatory requirements and company policy.  This is a critical and visible position for an aggressive and experienced food quality professional.  Other responsibilities include:

·                     Supervise and develop staff.  Establish department goals and objectives.

·                     Maintain various policies and Standard Operating Procedures including:  HACCP, GMP,USDA regulations, food safety, pest control, internal audit procedures, etc.

·                     Utilize various root cause analyses and corrective action procedures.

·                     Conduct complaint investigation and resolution.  Manage any recall actions.

·                     Develop and manage the department budget.

·                     Provide supplier qualification criteria and periodic audit procedures.

·                     Ensure proper procedures in place for product handling and storage.

 

Requirements

 

·                     BS Food Science, Microbiology or related field.

·                     5 years experience in food production quality assurance.

·                     Knowledge of thermal and non-thermal food preparation techniques.

·                     Working knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to food manufacturing.
