QUALITY ASSURANCE CHEMIST

National Standard is a leading manufacturer and distributor of wire. Our products serve a variety of markets including manufacturing, automotive, construction, aviation and utilities.

This night shift position is responsible for performing laboratory tests to determine suitability of processes and products. Work is performed in the wire mill as well as the lab. Testing includes, but is not limited to, mechanical, chemical, physical, and spectrochemical. Interested candidates must be available to work night shift hours and overtime as necessary to support production.

Responsibilities:

Prepare wire and rod samples for metallographic examination

Perform spectrochemical analysis on wire

Perform atomic absorption analysis

Work with production team members and supervision staff to help identify and correct non-conformances

Perform product and process audits

Participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives
