Commercial Products Group (a subsidiary of Hart & Cooley) is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Purchasing Agent.  Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will support the daily operation of the accounting department.  As part of the accounting team, you will maintain purchase requisitions, negotiate pricing with vendors, and assist with cost saving initiatives.  This is an excellent opportunity to partner with a successful, growing manufacturing entity.

PURCHASING AGENT/BUYER

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

·        Negotiate contract pricing with vendors in order to obtain best pricing and terms while achieving corporate purchasing goals.

·        Analyzing daily and weekly material usage to determine proper mins/maxs

·        Responsible for preparing and leading bi-annual physical inventories.

·        Review daily cycle counts, determine cause of discrepancy and initiate corrective actions

·        Analyze pricing variances

·        Conversion of approved purchase requisitions into Purchase orders

·        Communicate with vendors to ensure on time shipment of production materials

·        Prepare management reporting as required

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

·        Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business (or equivalent experience)

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills

·        Excellent problem resolution skills and ability to follow through.

·        2 to 5 years of manufacturing experience with an emphasis on purchasing. 

·        Proficiency with Office software including Word and Excel
