Business Analyst/Software Designer

Tyler Technologies is looking for bright, creative people to join our team as a business analyst and software user interface designer. This position requires the candidate to participate in many aspects of product design and implementation. Our ideal candidate is a team player that wants to work with small groups of motivated individuals. We offer a casual family environment where attitude and skills outweigh tenure. The ideal candidate for this position will be personable, flexible, highly organized, a multi-tasker, dependable, and a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision. The ability to learn quickly and having the motivation is the most important attribute.  The candidate must work well in a team project environment.

Responsibilities

§         Interview clients and other subject matter experts to determine business requirements for local government software solutions

§         Collaborate with other internal departments to evaluate, research and further define business requirements

§         Collaborate with Product Managers, as well as Developers, to design the application’s user interface and functionality that meets or exceeds business requirements

§         Author comprehensive functional system specifications that include detailed business requirements, user interface and report designs

§         Work closely with the Development, Quality Assurance and Technical Writers to ensure that all aspects of the system specifications are implemented completely and correctly

§         Contribute to the advancement of the team environment through attitude, leadership, and continuous knowledge transfer

§         Remain in a learning mode at all times to gain domain expertise in local government

Qualifications

§         Prior business analysis, user interface design, and/or experience with enterprise-wide application development/implementation

§         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

§         Technical degree or background preferred, but not required

§         Knowledge of criminal justice procedures preferred, but not required

§         XML/XSLT knowledge is desirable, but not required

Software Experience

§         Microsoft Office products is required

§         Design tools such as Microsoft Visio, Visual Studio, or Axure RP is preferred
