ABOUT US:

Greenwood Leflore Hospital was established in a converted house in 1906 by the King’s Daughters’ Society with the help of the City of Greenwood and Leflore County. A new hospital building was built in 1918, again with the help of the city and county. In 1931, the name changed from King’s Daughters’ to Greenwood Leflore Hospital when the King’s Daughters’ gave the hospital to the city and county. In 1936, a 30-bed annex was added but, by 1952, GLH had moved to a new facility, the site of its present location at 1401 River Road in the heart of Greenwood. Today, we are a 248 bed regional medical center accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital employs 895 people and is the second largest employer in Leflore County.

OUR MISSION:

Greenwood Leflore Hospital is a non-for-profit healthcare organization which exists to provide high quality, cost-effective healthcare service in partnership with its medical staff to the residents of Leflore County and surrounding communities in North Central Mississippi.

OUR VISION:

We believe that Greenwood Leflore Hospital should use its location, competitive position, and the strength and breadth of its medical staff to become a regional medical center serving the residents of Leflore and surrounding counties in north central Mississippi. The hospital and its outreach centers should provide high-quality, cost-effective, primary and secondary health care services.
