CITY: Englewood Cliffs STATE: New Jersey COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities): This position will be responsible for financial management of CNBC Programming Editorial Operations, with particular focus on Primetime & Weekend shows, CNBC produced documentaries & magazine shows, purchased programs, and development of new original content. The role will report to the Director of Programming Finance, and will work directly with the CFO on special projects as assigned. P&L budget development and management: create detailed short range (SII - 1 yr) and a long range (S1 - 3 yr) strategic forecasts, Operating Plan, and quarterly estimates for $33M cost P&L Manage quarterly close process for all PT & Docs programming departments, including accruals, variance analysis and related account reconciliations Build relationships with editorial management and operators to proactively identify risks and opportunities to the P&L Serve as SAP/'Title Management' administrator for all programming projects, ensuring accurate cost reporting in SAP Project System Coordinate and facilitate budget development, financial monitoring, and post-mortem review, for standalone projects & events Responsible for CNBC Long Form Programming policy including active management of capitalization and amortization procedures Assist CNBC cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives by serving as functional liaison Develop and implement key business analytics and drive process improvements Support Director with various ad hoc analysis and pacing requests Influence and support systems integration improving availability and visibility of Financial information and metrics (i.e. SAP) Partner with NBCUNI controllership to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures Active management of the following cost drivers: o PT Talent and Production Company contracts o Outside service providers Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of five (5) years accounting & finance experience Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Proficiency with Accounting software programs Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance Eligibility Requirements: Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered (note job#: 813973). Desired: Essential Responsibilities (Cont...): Cost management involves the following: Ensuring accurate coding and approval of programming costs (i.e. face approved invoices, special coding of card transactions) Working closely with operators to ensure accurate vendor billing Liaising with Sourcing/Legal/HR to maintain proper client/vendor relationships Monthly Review of Purchasing & T&L card activity Monitoring of vendor payments Coordinating with CNBC A/P resource for invoice processing, client/vendor set-up and payment terms compliance Timely research of & response to vendor questions Building ad hoc reports and payment schedules Identifying & maintaining related recurring payments Desired: CPA or MBA desired, but not required SAP & PeopleSoft a plus Highly organized and detail oriented Strong analytical skills Exceptional interpersonal & teamwork skills, exhibiting proven ability to work collaboratively, with individuals at all levels, and across all functional groups Proactive thinker / self-starter Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines High energy level with ability to take initiative General: NBC Universal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies.
