PSS Sales Specialist

Overview

The primary responsibility of the 14 PSS Sales Specialists is to drive business into the PSS client base by presenting and demonstrating the athenahealth solutions and helping the athenahealth sales executives close business.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Attain assigned PSS Sales Quota on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Effectively cover the assigned PSS Sales Region
• Travel with PSS Sales Representatives to their clients to learn and understand their needs for revenue cycle management and clinical cycle management
• Present and demonstrate the athenahealth solution
• Upon qualification of a PSS client as a lead, transition to the appropriate athenahealth Sales Executive to close the business.
• Develop PSS Sales Representatives’ ability to deliver an athenahealth elevator pitch
• Have a strong foundation of industry knowledge, environment, and competitive products and know how to position athenahealth against these factors and be proficient in handling client objections.
• Ensure all PSS clients interested in athenahealth understand how our solutions will improve their practice
• Maintain accurate up-to-date sales lead system (athenaCRM)
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of PSS Sales

Qualifications
Overall, the individual should possess the skills necessary to manage his/her assigned territory and deliver on his/her appointment-setting and closed sales quota. These qualifications include:
• Bachelor of arts or sciences;
• Demonstrated experience developing in lead generation;
• Strong sales administration skills, timely and comprehensive territory coverage;
• Demonstrated successful sales experience;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Outgoing, confident and articulate manner;
• Professional poise and persistence
• Ability and willingness to spend a majority of time on the road travelling with PSS reps.

Bases for Evaluation

The Sales Development Associate will be evaluated as much on the performance of the team as the individual’s performance on discrete assignments and metrics. Specific bases of evaluation may include, but are not limited to:
• Annual 360 degree appraisal;
• Contribution to the department’s overall achievement of its scorecard goals.
