This position is responsible for coordinating the renovation, modernization, restoration, physical improvements and maintenance of the existing facilities, sites, structures and furnishing, with in- house maintenance crew and/or outside contractors and vendors. Ability to prepare cost estimates and construction schedules. Knowledge of hospital budget process and procedures. Knowledge of building codes for City of Boston, State of Massachusetts and federal government for all trades. Knowledge of JCAHO regulation. Knowledge of state and city permitting procedures and regulations. Knowledge generally obtained through an Associates Degree in Construction Management. 10 Years experience in all phases of building construction. Experience in supervision of all trades involved in building construction and maintenance. An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. State of Massachusetts and City of Boston Construction Supervisors License required. Frequent interfaces with outside contractors, hospital administrators, department heads, physicians, Engineering and Architectural Services to promote efficient completion of construction, maintenance and redecoration projects.
