DESCRIPTION:
Develops, plans, schedules, coordinates, and supervises activities for a Major Mid-Western Coal-fired Power Plant’s scheduled outages and capital projects. Prepares milestone and integrated job schedules and provides project completion forecasts to management. The Project Scheduler also, participates in monthly, weekly, and daily planning meetings to keep Project Management informed of job progress and to assess critical issues affecting schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, schedule and coordinate Power Plant Outages/Capital Projects activities to assure safe, continuous, efficient, and economical plant performance. Prepare conceptual project schedules, as required, to support project development planning. Coordinate and review schedule input from engineering, contractors and suppliers to develop an integrated master project schedules for engineering, procurement, and outage activities. Prepare daily work schedules, track work progress, update project critical path schedules, and make adjustments to daily work activities as needed to communicate and achieve outage goals. Manage the Outage /Project scope Change Order Process defining Outage cost and schedule impact. Support Project/Outage cost management by providing cost estimates, schedule updates and performance reviews. Provide scheduling expertise to department, plant, and other personnel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Project Management from a 4 year accredited university highly desired but those with a 2 year degree in project management from an accredited school may be considered. 5-10 years of experience with a strong background in power plant maintenance and/or maintenance planning and familiarity with CT/fossil plant maintenance practices is required. Candidates must have strong skills in programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and be proficient in Estimating/Scheduling Software such as Primavera Project Planner. Candidate must be adaptable to various work environments and conditions. Work will be in an office environment, as well as hard-hat areas (dust, noise, heat, and cold). Position involves extensive travel to production plants and other locations estimated up to 40%.
