Position Summary/Relocation Benefits

 

Responsible for managing one or more projects of varying complexity while managing trade-offs in the constraints of schedule, cost, scope, and quality to deliver specified requirements and meet customer/company expectations.  Additional responsibilities include assembling key project team members; directing, motivating, and managing the project team by managing the work and resources involved; delegate responsibility and task interfaces as well as managing conflicts and deviations.  Ensure quality is achieved as planned, deliver to time and cost within agreed tolerance by balancing the needs of the project, client, and company while upholding sound project management processes, policies and procedures as directed by the PMO Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of project management and experience in development and tracking of project plans in accordance with industry-accepted guidelines such at the PMI processes. This person will be responsible for planning and tracking activities, resource allocation, schedule and cost on multiple projects as assigned by the Project Management Office (PMO) Supervisor.  Occasional travel customer locations in Alaska and other areas will be required.  Specific duties will include:

§         Facilitate the development and execution of the Project Management Plan.

§         Ensure all project requirements and/or objectives are properly documented.

§         Liaise with project's sponsor and/or customer as well as supplier and contractor representatives.

§         Prepare short-term plans (stage plans) as the project progresses.

§         Track and report progress, including realistic forecasts of final project outcomes with regard to schedule and cost.

§         Manage project process groups and knowledge areas within methodology set by the PMO.

§         Document and report on all project expenditures.

§         Proactively identify and escalate project risk and issues and facilitate project risk/issue reviews and appropriate mitigation.

§         Facilitate communication as appropriate to all involved and "manage" stakeholders.

§         Document, obtain approval, and track all changes in project parameters.

§         Close all project documentation and archive appropriate records

 

 

Basic Qualifications

     

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years relevant project management experience.  Comptia Project+, PMI-CAPM, or PMI-PMP certification preferred. 

Goal orientated and action-focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined, process and planning minded. Strong in communication, motivation, and delegation.  Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products and experience with project management software tools (Gantt charts, activity lists, collaboration tools).  Strong understanding of Project Management Lifecycle

EDUCATION: Bachelorīs Degree in IT, MIS, Business or equivalent education preferred.  Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Individual should have a broad range of experience and education covering program/project management, and have experience managing IT projects with multiple individuals with varying technical skill sets.
