This position provides project management services to customers of the Application Services (Prism) Team. Application Services is responsible for development of Novus Suite Services for Thomson Reuters. This is a great opportunity to manage work products of Novus Suite projects and help to implement project management best practices within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities: Lead Application Services-related new product development initiatives for West Migration and West BigX project activities for Security, Search and Data Services Work with department Team and Tech Leads to manage deliverables requested from Application Services Lead deliverable completion for infrastructure and other customers as assigned Manage communications and day-to-day Application Services deliverable activities with customers Contribute to resource planning and prioritization of deliverables within Application Services Represent Application Services on Business Unit project teams Manage Application Services Change Request Process for assigned customers Produce status reports for assigned customers and deliverables Work with Application Services Management Team to refine and implement project management best practices Assist the team Manager with the preparation of monthly reports to stakeholders Use Clarity Enterprise Project Management tool to manage resources and status of customer deliverables Manage customer expectations regarding scope, schedule, cost, and quality of deliverables Collaborate with business owners, technology management, and other project managers on present and future project management needs Make decisions and recommendations to management about schedules, prioritization, and resource allocation with input from team members Work collaboratively with other project managers and across project teams to identify and resolve issues with minimal guidance, escalating as appropriate Coach and train project team members on project management processes and best practices as needed
Minimum Qualifications: A four-year degree in Computer Science or a related field. Six years of work experience - including three years of technology project management experience Strong project management experience in same or related industry - Demonstrated achievements in planning, directing, and implementing multiple and concurrent projects Demonstrated project planning and management skills with working knowledge of project management methodology and related software Experience in compiling and analyzing information to estimate project costs accurately Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with technology staff, business stakeholders, end users, all levels of management, and others outside the organization Demonstrated experience in creating and leading cross-functional project teams Ability to solve problems and set priorities to meet deadlines Self-motivated with ability to drive initiatives independently Ability to work effectively with diverse styles, skills, and abilities and across cultures Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills
