Product Development Project Manager 6 month contract to hire Charlottesville, VA Position Summary: ~Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Participates in system design and architecture to parallel overall business strategies. ~Uses knowledge of commonly-used relational database concepts, practices, and procedures to provide support for data transformation, testing, troubleshooting, and end-user support. Principal Duties: 1. Creates and maintains project plan and requirements for assigned groups product and content enhancements. Provides predictive caution if tasks will not be completed on time or if the scope of the tasks changes. 2. Manages cross-team resources involved in an assigned project and completes tasks for successful completion of project. 3. Creates product and content specifications for each product release and enhancement. Works with development staff to develop enhancement in a timely fashion. 4. Tests product enhancements pre- and post-development to make sure product will meet end user needs, meets specifications and is error free. Assures quality control including regularly updating and maintaining daily and post maintenance product checksheets. 5. Reviews sales visits and client requests. Gathers feedback from assigned client and internal sources for future enhancements and ways to increase usage. Liaises with clients and developers to correct bugs in product and follows up with clients. 6. Responds to client questions and provides technical and functional support. 7. Provides training and top tier support for clients. Provides product specific training to end users of assigned products. 8. Schedules deployment of new product releases, patches and fixes. 9. Prepares product presentations and analysis. 10. As appropriate, works with Marketing staff to develop marketing campaigns, collateral materials, and advertising for assigned products. 11. Completes other assignments and tasks as required. Education: BA or BS in Computer Science, Finance or a related field and equivalent on-the-job experience. Required Experience: ~Technical training or some experience in a project management capacity preferred. ~Wxperience managing software products utilizing different technical platforms. ~Prior corporate finance or investment banking experience preferred. ~Provide feedback as requested about testing scripts. Specific Skills: *Must be able to write SQL scripts is required. *Knowledge of company's computer systems preferred. *Knowledge and understanding of company's DB and corporate structure, products and services preferred.
