FindLaw Technology team is looking for a highly motivated individual with strong organization skills for the position of Technology Project Manager. While working on software development projects, this position provides project management and business analysis services serving various FindLaw functional areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
Drive and manage departmental technology projects. May manage multiple projects concurrently. Collaborate with business owners to align project deliverables with business goals and expectations. Maintain issues logs, decision logs, status reports, meeting summaries, project schedules. Manage day to day activities and task assignment for a small development team (2 - 5 people). Provide feedback on an ongoing basis to improve processes and methodologies, standards etc used by FindLaw to improve efficiency, quality and performance. Collaborates with other project managers to share and build a common set of best practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Strong communication skills - both written and verbal - which must include willingness to communicate, clarity of communication style, tact and sensitivity when dealing with difficult situations; Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills. Good leadership qualities in setting direction and encouraging others to participate, and creating a sense and spirit of teamwork. Ability to break complex business issues into actionable tasks. Ability to work effectively in a professional manner with managers, technology staff, business stakeholders and end users. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Self-motivated. Ability to establish good and effective relationships with the business owners. Strong team player and contributor.
Four-year undergraduate degree or work-experience equivalent. Degree in computer science or related field is strongly desired. Seven or more years of experience working in a technology environment including three or more years of project management experience. Demonstrated project planning and management skills with working knowledge of project management methodology and software. PMP certification is a plus.
