Project Manager, Healthcare Technology Solutions

In response to hospitals’ growing need to aggregate disparate data into meaningful business intelligence, The Advisory Board is expanding its portfolio of technology solutions. The goal of these solutions is to elevate a member (client) institution's ability to surface problems, make faster decisions and ultimately improve performance.

We’re currently seeking a project manager to manage the software development activity within our healthcare business intelligence (BI) unit. This position represents an exciting opportunity to lead high-visibility projects in one of the firm’s fastest growing divisions.

Specific Responsibilities

· Determine project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule

· Create and manage project plans, risk mitigation plans, communication plans, resource requirements, project costs and all other project management-related documentation

· Define team member roles and expectations; ensure all members of team are engaged and purposefully utilized; provide timely feedback

· Manage relationships and coordinate work between vendors, sub-contractors, and different teams at different locations

· Perform day-to-day management of all phases of the project including requirements gathering, design, development, test, and deployment

Coordinate all project activities with business owners/stakeholders and other support, technical infrastructure, and application teams Communicate frequently with executive leadership to provide project risk analysis, status, and analysis of requirements that might impact strategic direction Collaborate closely with the business owners and technical teams to identify and document detailed requirements, process flows, and data sources Review and manage all changes to the requirements through a formally defined scope change process Measure and monitor progress and clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations In partnership with business owners, balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks

Preferred Skills

· Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years work experience; 2-5 years experience as a Project Manager developing technology applications highly desirable

· Strong understanding of technologies used in today’s IT solutions. Technologies related to data warehousing, and business intelligence are desired

· Direct experience managing BI and data warehousing projects is highly desirable.

· Ability to work well with technical and non-technical resources

· Ability to manage all aspects of the project, including providing overall guidance and direction, and overseeing financial management activities

· Ability to document and communicate progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary

· Ability to review project deliverables for completeness, quality and compliance with established project standards

· Ability to manage relationships and negotiate changes to commitments/requirements

· Ability to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project

· Ability to see tasks through to completion with minimal guidance

· Unparalleled time management, prioritization, and critical thinking skills

· Strong verbal and written communications skills

· Experience with healthcare and healthcare technologies a plus
