The Project Manager is responsible for delivery of projects chartered to address business issues, opportunities, business processes, and associated application development and delivery as defined by Systems leadership. This is not an IT position. It is a business project manager role interacting with IT and managing business tracks.

Accountabilities

n       Accountable to leadership for delivery of agreed project outcomes

n       Accountable to the Project Office lead for compliance with standard project management and  business deployment process

Responsibilities

n       Utilize industry-accepted project management best practices and firm-established project management processes to direct project planning, execution and control

n       Manage the defined business tracks of projects (business analysis, business support/operations, business process/policy, communications, end user training, user documentation and user acceptance testing) and coordinate with the relevant IT Project manager who manages the defined technical tracks (technical design, software development, QA, technical operations) to ensure on time delivery of the overall project to the required standard and scope and within the approved budget

n       Track all project costs against approved total project budget and provide project cost estimates and budget forecasts to leadership covering all project tracks (business & technical)

n       Manage the delivery of project artifacts consistent with the project plan and budget

n       Ensure the Consistency and Quality of Project Track Deliverables

n       Take corrective action to bring any variances back in line with the project plan and utilize strict change control procedures to manage any project changes when and as they occur

n       Identify project risks, perform risk analysis, risk response planning, and monitor and control all risks through project completion

n       Escalate unresolved critical issues for decision by Leadership

n       Measure project progress to be reported to Leadership

Qualifications:

·         At least six years of project management experience with a focus on managing and deploying medium to large scale business projects involving significant software application development & deployment

·         Professional Certification (PMP) is preferred but not required

·         Minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university

·         Must be comfortable working in a matrix environment.  The emphasis is on coordinating and facilitating business functional and technical areas.

·         Experience with deploying project deliverables internationally a plus

·         Thorough knowledge of project lifecycle methodology and artifacts.

·         Ability to visualize business processes and understand enabling technology solutions for business problems or opportunities.

·         Must have highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with strong meeting facilitation skills

·         Must demonstrate excellent planning and analytical skills

·         Proven ability to interact with both business and technical representatives

·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Office and comfortable with project management tools
