DESCRIPTIONS:

The Project Engineer performs implant and instrument design work, leads small projects, and actively participates on multi functional teams to advance assigned projects through the design/development process though launch to the market.

Interface with surgeons to gather input for design and evaluation of new products.Utilize knowledge of surgical procedures to develop innovative solutions that satisfy customer needs.Actively participate on cross-functional design teams and lead small projects.Model and detail implant and instrumentation designs utilizing ProE software.Develop prototypes and test protocols, and execute testing for design verification and validation.Utilize and manage Design Controls.Develop and manage work plans and timeliness within the scope of assigned projects.

The Senior Project Engineer will need to perform implant and instrument design work as well as actively participate on, and sometimes lead, a multifunctional team to advance assigned projects through the design /development process and ultimately through launch into the market.

Modeling and detailing of implant and instrumentation designs utilizing the PRO E design software.Development of prototypes for design verification and validation.Interfacing with clinical advisors to gather input for design and evaluation of new product.Utilization / Management of the Design Controls.Technical report writing.Active participation on, and at times leading, cross functional design teams to develop new product as well as address design issues / maintenance of existing ones.Utilize knowledge of all aspects of the surgical procedure in order to develop innovative solutions to solve / satisfy customer needs.Develop and manage project plans and time lines with in the scope of the new product development guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

Project Engineer

3 to 7 years of product design experience, medical device industry preferred.Receives a medium level of supervision.Provides basic strategic and moderate tactical input.Provides medium engineering skills.Responsible for small projects.Basic project management skills.Good technical communication skills.Familiarity with design controls within a regulated industry.Moderate experience with a parametric CAD package, ProE preferred.Bachelors degree in engineering, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.

Senior Project Engineer

5 + years of product design experience in the medical device industry or equivalent.Familiarity with design controls with in a regulated industry.Prior work experience in the medical device industry desired.Self-starters, have a hands-on approach and capability to work independently.Experience with a parametric CAD design package. PRO E preferred.Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, Masters preferred.

SALARY:

Based on Position and Experience

Ranges between $70,000 and $120,000
