Description: Under direction of the Customer and Product Quality Manager this position will support the business unit regarding product quality / customer satisfaction issues for global customers as well as responsibility for the development and implementation of the quality systems, quality plans, Lean/Six Sigma, Top 5, Continuous Improvement and Customer Satisfaction Programs. This position is also responsible for bringing the Voice of the Customer (VOC) into the business and serving as the interface between Sales, Field Quality Leads, Marketing, Engineering and Product Quality when solving Product Quality issues; delivering the quality message to the field including corrective actions and product improvements; interfacing with all world-wide locations and sales offices to investigate and respond to customer quality issues; development of processes to meet business unit objectives with emphasis on productivity, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. The Product Quality Engineer actively participates in the development and prioritization of quality plans to drive down warranty return rates. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with Sales, Field Quality leads, Tech Support, and Commercial Engineering to get additional information required in the investigation of failures related to application/installation/environmental issues. Manage Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process between business and field. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Marketing, Materials Lab, and Manufacturing to determine root cause of product failures. Expedite RCFAs through the analysis process based on customer/commercial priorities. Analyze product returns data relating to specific customer issues. Visit customers as required providing direct quality interface to customers and Sales in resolving application and product quality issues. Support field quality leads by managing issue resolution within the business. Bring VOC into product group to assist in driving corrective actions and making product improvements. Develop, implement and maintain Quality, Productivity, Lean/Six Sigma, Top 5, Continuous Improvement and Customer Satisfaction programs. Manage follow-up of the corrective action system to ensure timely and effective actions. Manage the product safety program with training and procedures as required to meet business requirements. Communicates quality results, improvement initiatives and metrics to various departments and appropriate levels of management. Collaborates and teams effectively to drive quality improvement for product and processes. Leads the development of and attains results for new quality programs, processes, and procedures. Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. Demonstrates proficiency in the areas of technical and/or professional expertise relevant to role. Develops and/or maintains the skills and knowledge required for role. Demonstrates an understanding of how the expertise required for own role contributes to the end product received by the customer (internal or external). Accepts and applies guidance and feedback; serves as a technical resource to others. Qualifications: This position requires a 4 year degree, such as a B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience. This position requires a thorough understanding of the use of quality tools to ensure the continual improvement of product quality through the effective implementation of quality programs for manufacturing processes and a minimum of seven years experience in a Quality Organization.
