Shell’s chemical business operations in the U.S. are performed through Shell Chemical LP, which is one of nearly 70 companies engaged in chemicals businesses for the Shell Group of companies. Shell Chemical LP produces about 9,072 kilotonnes (20 billion pounds) of chemicals annually, which are sold primarily to industrial markets in the United States. Shell Chemical LP is currently seeking a Project Engineer for their Geismar, Louisiana location.
Responsibilities : Provide and execute technically competent solutions quickly and efficiently in response to unanticipated or unresolved engineering or construction problems Execute Downstream Project Processes as they apply to front end development, detailed design, and construction Establish engineering, procurement, and construction strategies Execute procedures such as Management of Change
Key Accountabilities Manage a wide variety of "Medium" projects (mainly in the range of $1-10 mln) Overall success of assigned projects Safe, effective and efficient execution of all phases of the projects, including incorporation of the appropriate level of location input Coordinate Shell personnel and Contractors to assure that field activities are safe and in accordance with the safety program Train departmental activities; and/or serve on a variety of departmental and Plant Teams
Requirements : Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, or in Construction Management 3-10 years experience in Refinery/Petrochemical Engineering. Project Engineering/Major Projects experience is highly desirable A practical working knowledge of refinery/petrochemical processes, process equipment, Shell EGGS and general project procedures is required Must have a satisfactory level of competence in the Global Project Engineering Skillpool Job Competence Matrix appropriate for a Project Engineer, Competence Level 1
