Description: Eaton Corporation's Hydraulic Systems Division of Eaton Aerospace, located in Jackson, Mississippi, has an opening for a Project Engineer - Aerospace Hydraulic Systems to be based in Wichita, KS.
This position will perform tasks in support of engineering analysis and design in areas of dynamic simulation and control system development including assessing hydraulic pump/motor control system stability as well as digital control development and implementation.
Critical for success in this role is the ability to:
-Establishes appropriate flow-down of aircraft requirements to system level. Understands the system specifications, layouts and functions and the interfaces to other (consumer) systems.
Assists in review and refinement of system specification(s).
-Determines component sizing and develops component specifications using customer data and/or own analysis.
-Participates in the system and components development process by identifying potential weak points, and develops solutions based on engineering judgment, inputs from Eaton experts, customer, suppliers and other systems partners.
-Develops or uses existing MS Excel based tools for quick system analysis i.e. thermal, pressure drop, flow.
-Defines and coordinates system level analysis with Eatons Analysis group.
-Assists in meetings with the customer and other systems partners, distributes the results to the development team and coordinates actions as necessary.
-Prepares system documents, e.g. description notes, analysis reports, certification reports etc.
-Ensures information flow within the Eaton Systems team and with other Eaton plants to facilitate work flow, efficiency and quality of work results delivered to the customer.
-Participates in the development of test and certification concepts for the system program.

-3+ years direct experience or working knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems experience: hydraulics, flight controls or landing gear
Knowledge of
- aircraft level requirements and flowdown to hydraulic system and component level,
- system functions and interfaces with aircraft or other systems,
- system development and certification process,
- system test, troubleshooting and/or product support experience are of benefit.
-Good presentation and customer relation skills.
-Project management and work in integrated (cross-functional) product teams.
-Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Visio, MS Project.
