The Program Chair is responsible for development completion and supervision of the new Associate of Science in Nursing Program and will serve as an expert on program curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Develops and implements student retention strategies.Conducts regular curriculum implementation meetings with faculty and recommends improvements in curriculum design. Serves as a subject matter expert for students, instructional staff and advisory committees regarding academic curriculum and technical information.Coordinates with Associate Dean to conduct instructor conferences and professional development sessions. Collaborates with Corporate Curriculum and Academic Affairs management to implement new program curricula.Oversees hiring, training, development, supervision and performance of faculty. Assists with student problem resolution, implementing policies and procedures, and student orientation and advising.Maintains teaching assignments as scheduled. Required Skills:Master of Science in Nursing degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education required, with a doctorate in nursing or a related field preferred. Current license as a registered professional nurse in good standing and eligible for licensure in Indiana. Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in field of specialty, including 2 years of related teaching experience in a post-secondary accredited institution. Previous supervisory and teaching experience required. Nursing education administration preferred.Superior interpersonal and communication skills.Proficient in MS Office, Internet, and course management software. Demonstrated creative, innovative, problem solving skills.Proven track record of project completions. Past history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
