Professional Services Consultant to provide Systems and Applications Software Support services to Government Account located in Princeton, New Jersey. Responsibilities include the following:Expertise with hardware and software on High Performance Computing Systems (Irix, Unix, Linux). Knowledge of system interoperability with Raid [or other] Storage, Networks, Servers, and other system type attachments.High level of problem isolation and identification skills. Excellent communication and customer relation skills. Assist users in achieving best performance usage on SGI hardware. Expected to work after hours and weekends when necessary.Required to carry a pager and participate with the team on-call rotation.Assist users with code development, porting, debugging and optimization. Maintain and develop scripts for users and 3rd party software applications. Monitoring of system performance and recommending system tuning ideas such as upgrading compilers, OS, changing system parameters, etc. Recommend techniques and policies for effective use of machine resources. Develop documentation and training classes as requested. Knowledge of some or all of the following: LINUX, FORTRAN, C and C++, OpenMP, MPI, parallel programming. Requirements: BS/MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering related field. Working knowledge of Linux and IRIX. Working knowledge of CXFS and/or DMF a plus. Experience with tape management, large, high performance storage and Hierarchical Storage Management Systems a plus. 7 years minimum experience in Computer Technology preferably in a High Performance Computing(HPC)environment.
