Professional Relations Representative
The territory includes the counties of Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare, and Ventura. No relocation assistance available.
The Professional Relations Representative promotes the professional interest of the Enterprise and affiliate companies by developing a strong network of participating providers. Recruit and contract providers for all product lines (Premier, PPO and DeltaCare USA), ensure support of performance guarantees for clients, and effectively train providers and staff on plan administration and company policies and procedures. Identify market trends to support the overall goal in developing new and innovative approaches that integrate market intelligence in support of developing the provider networks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit and contract providers for all product lines (Premier, PPO, DeltaCare USA and Delta Vision). Responsible for developing the networks utilizing cold calling and networking tools to generate leads. Interview and screen prospective providers, analyze acceptability according to standards, negotiate contracts and coordinate required credentialing documents. Learn and understand the assigned dental market to ensure effective recruitment of providers. Responsible for timely and accurate completion of the provider application to ensure successful implementation.
Contribute to competitively positioning Delta in the marketplace; identify key competitors, collect and report competitive developments and trends for organizational strategic planning; seek opportunities for improving the company image and visibility in the business community.
Works in conjunction with Provider Compensation and Professional Relations Management team for non-standard agreement negotiations including but not limited to, analyzing cost impact of re-negotiated fees with providers and presenting requests to the Non-Standard Agreement Committee for approval/recommendations.
In partnership with Sales, coordinate the exchange of information pertaining to new sales and network development plans, effectively communicate the business challenges and collaborate on a plan that links the clients’ needs with Delta’s corporate strategy.
Attend dental conventions, dental outreach seminars and open enrollment events as needed.
Maintain effective and clear channels of communication between providers, clients, internal and external staff within the Enterprise.
Miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by Supervisor, Manager, Director, EVP, SVP, VP’s within the Enterprise
Requirements
Recruitment skills: Ability to demonstrate company philosophy of quality and service in every recruiting call. Ability to effectively explain company products and services, including product features and benefits. Develops and uses effective and repeatable provider recruiting methods. Must meet annual recruiting objectives.
Ability to explain key concepts of the dental healthcare industry and appropriately use dental healthcare terminology including but not limited to the procedures and nomenclature of the ADA’s Current Dental Terminology (CDT codes).
Minimum of 1 year sales or dental field recruitment/network management experience.
Minimum of 1 year of dental managed health care experience in all aspects DHMO plan administration.
Basic knowledge of dental healthcare benefit for fee-for-service, dental PPO and DHMO plans.
Excellent client skills. Comfortable interacting with clients at all levels of an organization in a one to one or group setting and must have strong negotiation skills.
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicle record and purchase and maintain $250,000/$500,000 collision damage liability insurance policy.
Ability to travel with overnight stays.
The ability to obtain and maintain sufficient credit to manage related job expenses including, but not limited to, applying to and being approved by a third party charge card agency to receive the company's corporate charge card.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, time management, presentation and articulation skills.
Must posses a high level of computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Self-motivated and takes initiative; must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Committed to keeping abreast of changing technology, best practices and industry trends as it pertains to dental offices and the Dental network.
Ability to effectively resolve conflict.
BS Degree preferred.
Ability to drive a car and to appear at a physical location on time
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to travel by airplane.
