Production Unit Manager – St. Louis, MO

PQ Corporation is a global enterprise operating in 20 countries.  We are a leading producer of silicate, zeolite, and other performance materials serving the detergent, pulp and paper, chemical, petroleum, catalyst, water treatment, construction, highway safety and beverage markets.

 

We have an immediate need for Production Unit Manager at our plant site in St. Louis, Missouri.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the ICD Unit and oversee production and maintenance scheduling, quality performance, variable and fixed cost control, safety and environmental compliance, employee relations and capital project management/coordination. 

 

Job Duties:

·         Ensure compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations.

·         Develop and maintain customer relations and service that supports meeting customer needs.

·         Production scheduling, including inventory control and quality performance.

·         Manage fixed and variable cost budgets.

·         Preventive maintenance of entire operation.

·         Capital project management/coordination.

·         Supervision of plant staff.

 

Job Requirements:

·         B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline.

·         Minimum of eight years of manufacturing experience as a supervisor.

·         Knowledge and experience in fields of safety, health and environmental regulations and Responsible Care®.

·         Interpersonal skills to develop direct reports and CQI teams.

·         Experience in management and control of variable and fixed cost budgets.

·         Process/project experience relevant to manage capital projects.

·         Knowledge and experience with ISO9000 standard requirements.

·         Experience in GMP/Food Grade Manufacturing is preferred.
