Major Responsibilities Include:
· Perform line set up and line start up.
· Perform package and flavor changeovers.
· Adjust all equipment as needed.
· Maintain all production line machinery and equipment to manufacturers specifications; including reading and understanding all machine manuals.
· Repair air and water leaks.
· Maintenance and repair of syrup room equipment and water treatment equipment.
· Make all welding repairs.
· Monitor boilers and refrigeration equipment.
· Monitor warmer’s temperature.
· Execute plant prevention maintenance program.
· Repair, maintain, rebuild, operate & troubleshoot all mechanical equipment.
· Must be able to repair, maintain, rebuild, troubleshoot and operate all electrical manufacturing equipment according to code.
· Have a general knowledge of PLC systems and able to troubleshoot ladder logic.
· Must communicate daily with Quality Control, Supervisors and Machine Operators.
· Must report maintenance problems to supervisors verbally and generate I-Maint (PM software) repair work orders.
Other Duties:
· Any other assigned duties including line relief if required.
· Follow all safety, GMP’s and plant work rules.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5+ years experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing environment; preferably in food, beverage or consumer goods packaging industry.
· Minimum high school diploma or GED and mechanical trade school.
· Able to read electrical schematics.
· Able to troubleshoot PLC ladder logic
· Knowledge of mechanical drives, conveying systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
· Must be computer literate.
· Good oral and written communication skills.
· NJ certifications: Blue Seal Boiler and Refrigeration Operator a plus.
