Production Engineer
The position of production engineer is for a global specialty chemical manufacturer in the area of Syracuse, NY.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Provides day-to-day technical assistance to the daily operation of the plant, including analysis and troubleshooting of plant operating problems.

·  Monitors day-to-day operation and initiates studies to improve operating plant efficiency, reliability, profitability, and regulatory compliance.

·  Supports plant shutdown/turnaround events with technical input and acceptance of work.

·  Provides mentoring and guidance to others

·  Works on assigned projects

·  Mentoring and training plant personnel.

·  Work closely with the following teams:  Maintenance, Quality Control, Cost Accounting, Supply Chain, and Engineering & Production.

·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·  Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering

·  Five to ten years of Production Level Engineering in the Chemical manufacturing industry

·  Background in an environment utilizing cGMP requirement s and Process Safety Management
