PRODUCT SUPPORT ENGINEER, ANALYTICAL INSTRUMENTS,

 AKRON, OHIO

 

The Product Support Engineer individual will fulfill various roles from being an individual contributor to being a Team Leader. The leadership role will involve taking ownership of a product order and ensuring all drawings, BOM’s and manuals are complete and correct prior to releasing the information to manufacturing.

Duties include:

·         Designing instrument interface hardware.

·         Creating Bills of Materials (BOM’s).

·         Technical decision-making.

·         Providing project status to the Engineering management.

·         Writing users operator and maintenance manuals.

·         Generate part detail drawing.

·         Generate assembly drawings and work instructions.

·         Provide support for existing products as required.

·         Interfacing with customers, both internal and external.

·         Efficient use of resources.

·         Some travel (international and domestic) may be required.

·         Up to 10% travel potential including international – must have a US Passport to fly

Experience/Qualifications

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

·         BS degree in engineering, or equivalent from a four-year accredited institution.

·         Knowledge of polymer science or the rubber industry a plus.

·         5 or more years engineering experience.

·         Knowledge of basic electronics a plus.

·         Experience in engineering development in an ISO certified organization is a plus.

·         Good communication skills.

·         Desire to accept new challenges and learn new things.
