General Dynamics Computing Technology Division (CTD) is a division of General Dynamics C4 Systems. Based in Taunton, Massachusetts CTD offers a full range of rugged and semi-rugged information technology solutions for domestic and international defense, industrial, and commercial customers. We provide and fully support total IT solutions. Customers can fulfill all of their computing and network needs with CTD’s full line of rugged and semi-rugged computers, network equipment, and peripherals. Using CTD’s technical services, customers can build and implement total solutions that meet their exact needs. CTD’s rugged and semi-rugged computer products include a full line of handheld, laptop, tablet, and palm-top computers; networking products include servers, storage devices, and wireless networking components; and edge devices include displays, workstations, printers, and faxes. CTD’s technical services offerings include systems integration; wireless network design and integration; and worldwide end-to-end life cycle support. Our customers include all branches of the U.S. Military; public-safety organizations; and commercial field services in the insurance; communication, utilities, transportation, and telecommunications industries worldwide. CTD has approximately 900 employees at facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. The role involves developing and implementing marketing strategy for our hardware products and services, working closely with the relevant division to ensure the smooth and effective introduction of new products. The successful candidate will be involved through the whole product life-cycle…analyzing the competition, positioning the product, segmenting the market, deciding the channel mix, pricing, volume, and product service and support strategy. Responsibilities will include: Customer/Sales Technical Support • Provide customer/sales technical support on new or existing server, workstation, notebook and thin-client products. • Articulate customer requirements to engineering group and act as liaison between engineering and customers as necessary and as directed by the product management team. • Share information and success stories with global colleagues to duplicate regional success on a global basis. Maintain Technical Product Information • Assisting Product Management with developing training material, understanding and utilizing manufacturing cost systems for development of cost reduction proposals, and addressing product related technical calls from field sales. • Assist, develop and contribute to effective new product launch plans and activities • Monitor and provide updates to the company web site • Preparing product datasheets of products, options and preipherals for hardware and software products • Assist with the preparation of product pricing and pricing policies. • Maintenance of product collateral, price sheets and web sites • Tradeshow sopport activities, including preparing product demonstrations, tadeshow signage. • Assist with and perform customer demonstrations Provide Technical Support to Product Marketing • Through field visits and conversations with customers, the candidate must strive to understand competitive positions at the tactical level such as competitive pricing and position strategies. • Participation in manufacturing planning (Sales, Inventory, Operations, Production) processes. • Working with product management, the candidate will be responsible for assisting with developing product development programs designed to meet organizational growth and profit goals. • Assist in product rationalization & product road maps from a technical and marketing perspective • Producing regular competitive analysis and competitive positioning papers • Identification of new technologies for use in new products. • Coordinate with Engineering organizations as focal point between the business and engineering including translating customer requirements and feedback into technology development plans. Qualifications Business Administration or Marketing or Technical degree (Master's or Bachelor's) with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a relevant field. Experience working with senior management and managing cross-functional teams Experience in marketing technical hardware and software products for government and enterprise applications Flair for innovative product solutions Skills include negotiation, communication, ability to influence others, risk taker, problem solver, and project management skills Fluency in English Qualification Requirements: • Experience working for an enterprise technology company in a product marketing/management role • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing solution/product launches • Ability to communicate business and technical levels with industry analysts, PR, R&D, sales, executive management, and customers • A technical engineering background is highly desired but not required. • The successful candidate must demonstrate expert-level knowledge of enterprise server and thin-client computing architectures • Be a strategic thinker with capacity to execute marketing plans and programs working with GD's sales, business develoment and executive management. • Must be a team player with the ability to own and drive results • Able to work in a fast moving aggressive environment in a large corporate environment • The proper work ethic to continue GD's tradition and position of being a market leader Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
