The Opportunity
As occupants of the intersection between dozens of leading companies and their suppliers, ICG Commerce is privy to a significant amount of valuable information including data and intelligence on supply markets, suppliers, company spending and pricing. While recognizing the need to carefully protect these data and client confidentiality, we believe that these data, coupled with our insights, can yield highly valuable business intelligence and analytics, both for use within ICGC and for sales to existing and future customers. To this end, ICG Commerce seeks an experienced product marketing/product management professional to work closely with our Market Intelligence and IT leadership to identify and execute opportunities to transform this asset in to an array of marketable products and services.
Product Marketing/Management Responsibilities and Requirements Market/Needs Analysis: Proven ability to engage market constituents and uncover the latent needs and interests of Fortune 1000 companies and derive meaningful and actionable insights regarding: - Current challenges/needs - Existing alternatives (competitive, other substitutes)
Concept Development/Quantification – Experience in the development of product ideas and the development of supporting business cases to include: - Development and testing of potential product concepts - Quantification of potential market opportunity (volume, price and return)
Product Development - Significant experience developing product roadmaps and interfacing with IT / application development and/or information management organizations for purposes of specifying/designing/testing and implementing new products
Product Launch/promotion – Experience bringing information based products and services to market by developing commercial strategies for new products to include pricing, sales strategy, sales collateral, introduction/launch, etc. - Some knowledge of supply chain/procurement is ideal - Some knowledge of supply markets, industries, Fortune 1000 company spending profiles/categories is ideal
The ideal candidate will have: 5-10 years of experience leading/supporting the entire product marketing/management lifecycle from need to product roadmap to product launch, for information and/or technology based products and services that have achieved significant traction in the marketplace. Further, the qualified candidate would be able to demonstrate a track record of having: · Secured market feedback and integrated it into product decisions · Quickly embraced data/information available and identified opportunities to leverage · Defined innovative and creative product ideas · Evaluated the commercial opportunity related to various product ideas and prepared meaningful business cases · Constructed product road maps · Priced and positioned products for optimal profitability
