As Product Manager, you will be a member of the team responsible for defining the strategy for future development of the company’s flagship product. Our client is a leader in both the network security and acceleration markets, and their flagship product is the only product on the market that combines these functionalities in a single box.

Description

Our client is currently seeking a Product Manager to manage their rapidly growing WAN Optimization Product Line, to define next generation products and the overall product road map, and to work with strategic company clients. The selected candidate will have the unique opportunity to work closely with the company’s sales executives and to collaborate with the internal R&D and Systems Engineering teams, creating high quality products to drive future company growth and supporting the design and efforts of the sales and marketing teams with strategic clients.



Responsibilities and Requirements


1. Product Manager Responsibilities

Product Managers are the company’s experts in the technologies, market trends and competitive pressures in both the network security and acceleration markets. Product Managers are directly responsible for all road map decisions, and are involved in critical aspects of engineering design, marketing strategy and sales execution. This position will play a key role in helping the company deliver a winning product strategy that meets both customer’s immediate requirements as well as the company’s long term market goals.

Specific responsibilities include:

Act as product expert and knowledge leader internally and externally to insure the success of the product in the defined markets and explore product expansion opportunities. Build relationships with customers, sales team and channel partners to understand customer and market requirements and environments. Provide leadership and direction to all aspects of the organization, with a particular focus on engineering, sales, field services and marketing.Be the point of contact for sales requiring specific features for strategic opportunities.Translate overall strategy and specific customer requirements into well written product requirements for each software release.Drive product from initial concept through development to timely and successful completion.Be directly involved in the engineering effort by providing detailed feedback on functional specifications and by acting as a field expert to engineering as questions and deployment details are needed.

2. Qualifications

Must have expert knowledge in networking or security fields. Knowledge of proxy technologies a plus.2-5 years experience in the following fields - Product management in the security, acceleration or networking fields; System or sales engineering in technology consulting services



3. Education Minimum Requirement

B.S. degree in computer science or related field requiredMBA preferred
