Product Manager (Entertainment, Games, Toys)

 

NPD's Entertainment Division is looking for an energetic person to join its Product Management team to manage a portfolio of market research products that provide insights to clients in the Video Games, Music, Movies and Toy Industries. This is an opportunity to work with Major Movie Studios, Record Labels, Games Publishers, Console Manufacturers and Toy Manufacturers to develop research products that provide insight into how their markets are changing.  This individual will stay ahead of clients' changing needs, industry trends and competition in order to actively identify new product opportunities and line extensions. S/he interacts closely with senior management and cross-functional groups including, Client Development, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, and Research Sciences to achieve objectives.

 

Accountabilities:

Manage existing products and develop new products, driving them from vision to launch.Gather user and market requirements through, feedback from Business Unit Management, Client Development, Sales, and Analysts. Collaborate with engineering and operations to explain product requirements and manage the development lifecycle.Maintain a close handle on the “pulse” of the industry through a healthy interest in consumer entertainment products and services. Work with the product management team to define the product strategy (roadmap) and product objectives.Participate in continuous improvement of the product management process, drawing on industry best practices for requirements gathering and product specification.Work with product marketing on positioning and differentiating our solution in the market.

 

Relevant Education/Experience Requirements:

2-4 years product management, analyst or market research experience with an entertainment, software, information services, or market research firm. Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word). Experience working with consumer panel and point-of-sale data, a plus.Experience writing business plans and doing market research and market sizing, a plus. A keen ability to multi-task and manage the details while keeping an eye on the big picture.  Team player who does not require detailed supervision.Strong project management skills. Strong communication skills and leadership abilities. A passion for consumer products in the Music, Movies, Video Games, Toys and/or Software sectors. BA degree or equivalent.
