Description: MAJOR OBJECTIVE:
Obtain and maintain UL, CSA, CE, CCC, FM, and other global certification approvals for all new and revised industrial control, machinery, and safety product lines. Coordinate/perform qualification testing as necessary for new products to obtain agency approvals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the product certification representative for UL, CSA, CE, CCC, FM and any other applicable agencies on new or continuation product development teams.
Perform design and construction reviews of proposed hardware, including printed circuit board layout and spacings, product documentation (installation instructions, labels) for conformance to the various standards.
Generate test plans to verify performance of design(s) to all applicable product certification requirements. Coordinate execution of these test plans through internal and/or external test laboratories.
Prepare and issue verification/validation reports based on test results from outside test lab and in-house tests required to meet all certification requirements.
Maintain global and domestic certifications by being knowledgeable and continuing the learning process to understand each agencys standards, guidelines, and directives.
Continually familiarize oneself with the most current standards for all certifications required by the business.
Provide training and supervision to technicians, as necessary, on performing safety/certification tests.
Maintain ISO certification by being knowledgeable of and following appropriate documents in the Quality Manual, the Product Safety Manual, and the Design Qualification Manual. Recommend enhancements to the manuals when practices deviate from documented procedures. Qualifications: Education:
B.S. or equivalent experience.
Experience:
One year's experience in design and/or evaluation of electronic industrial control equipment with some background in domestic and global agency approvals.
Knowledge:
Make appropriate and effective use of oral and written English to communicate, cooperate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups.
Utilize analytical and mathematical skills appropriate to responsibilities.
Utilize appropriate judgment and discretion as they relate to responsibilities.
Plan and organize work to effectively perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Keep current in understanding and applying knowledge and methods affecting area of responsibility.

Consistently comply with standards governing productivity, dependability, workmanship, and other reasonable standards as designated by supervisor, supervisor's designee, or other appropriate company official.
Have a thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to Standards of Business Conduct and to train and motivate subordinates (if applicable) in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
