General Purpose:

Prospecting, soliciting, quoting and selling new accounts.  Some servicing of accounts may be required.  Specific sales goals and service responsibilities are determined by management on an annual basis.

Essential Functions:

¨       Development of sales objectives to meet the projected premium volume and commission goals as established by the Principals.

¨       Creates and maintains prospect and suspect lists.

¨       Requests referrals from existing client base.

¨       Pre-qualifies prospects for quality and insurability.

¨       Identifies client’s insurance needs, gaps in coverage and loss exposures and recommends appropriate insurance coverage to clients/prospects.

¨       Obtains accurate information from prospects, including completed applications, supplemental questionnaires, surveys and any other pertinent information necessary to provide a proposal.

¨       Rounds existing accounts by adding lines of business not currently written by agency.

¨       Participates in community activities that facilitate agency name recognition and insurance leads.

¨       Accurately documents client files pertaining to coverage discussions, quotes, declinations.

¨       Maintains sense of urgency and completeness when dealing with clients, agency and company personnel that minimizes potentials for errors & omission claims.

¨       Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

¨       Working knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

¨       Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels.

¨       Possesses strong organizational skills.

¨       Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Education or Formal Training:   

¨       High School Diploma or equivalent.

¨       Arizona Property & Causality insurance license a must.

¨       Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance required.

Experience:

¨       Previous experience in the insurance industry.

Working Environment / Physical Requirements/Activities:

General office environment; therefore, must have the ability to operate Company office machines/equipment with hands and the ability to use and type on computer keyboard.  Must have the physical ability to use the telephone.  Must understand questions/concerns raised by parties involved, in person and over the telephone.  Must be able to read job-related documents.  Must have the physical ability to stoop, bend and lift up to a maximum of ten pounds. Must have the ability to transport self to on-site meetings with personnel at outlying locations, as well as the ability to transport self to customer locations.
