Position Objective:
Develop, coordinate and manage preventive action measures to predict process variation and optimize product quality output through fixed processes and control plans. Instill a proactive approach to process planning and surveillance within the North American Operations that will improve first pass yield and cost avoidance (Scrap, Rework, and Warranty). Develop, implement, document and track continuous improvement/cost reduction programs.
BS degree in an Engineering Science or Quality Related field and 5 years managerial and 10 years experience in metal processing – machining, heat treat and fabrication is required.
Must be a citizen of USA
Must be in compliance with D-R Safety and Company Policies.
Manages Quality Engineering activities throughout D-R North American Operation to optimize process and product quality.
Provides technical support in the movement of product and process between D-R Manufacturing Operations.
Ensures client product features are translated into operational control plans and are effectively communicated, deployed and monitored within the Operations.
Provides leadership and direction for Product Quality Engineers to contribute technical guidance to cost centers to ensure the control of product quality.
Promotes the application and training of quality tools to analyze and improve processes to permanently reduce cycle time and cost.
Directs the review and analysis of internal and external complaints in order to identify corrective and preventive action opportunities.
Knowledge:
Project Planning & Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, SPC/Microsoft software.
Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ-CQE) is required.
Certified ASQ 6-Sigma Blackbelt preferred.
