CITY: Pittsfield STATE: Maine COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

  • Continuously identify, and reduce variability in all critical processes. Institute SPC charts in all required processes.
  • Provides engineering support by troubleshooting production problems and effecting timely solutions to maintain the continuity of production flow.
  • Effectively interfaces with manufacturing and support team individuals to design manufacturing/quality processes and improvements within schedule and budgetary parameters.
  • Understands and promotes new manufacturing/quality systems initiatives. Prepares capital appropriation requests when investment is required to support these initiatives. Monitor and debugs new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies.
  • Interfaces with design engineering and marketing to effect product design changes and to introduce new products to manufacture.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation, providing concept drawings and cost estimates.
  • Understands electronic test equipment and processes. Supports test engineering group in meeting the product quality requirements.
  • Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and vendor tooling.
  • Implement production layouts and ergonomic workstations addressing work flow, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Continuously trains and guides floor employees for improving and meeting product quality expectations. Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelors/Associate degree in Electrical field or related field or a commensurate level of related experience (8 or more years experience).
  • Five or more years specifically related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in electronic devices preferably in fire devices.
  • Strong working knowledge of statistical process control and six- sigma quality systems and tools.
