Job Description: Private Mortgage Bankers enable affluent clients to leverage their assets and complement their wealth management goals by providing sound home financing solutions. This is a lending position responsible for independently discovering new loan sources in Omaha, Nebraska. These loan sources include Realtors, Builders, Financial Planners, CPAs, Attorneys and other banks. Additional responsibilities include rendering credit decisions for Jumbo loans on behalf of the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Private Mortgage banking division. The successful candidate will have the expertise to craft a suitable financing package along with the ability to underwrite and decision loans from the basic to the complex. This is a position for the entrepreneur who loves to take charge of the entire process to ensure prompt loan delivery and an exceptional customer experience. Minimum Qualifications: JOB EXPERIENCE 3+ years of mortgage origination experience or 10 years of successful sales experience and 2+ years of mortgage origination experience with an emphasis on prime lending and purchase business Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate programs, loan terms, features, policies, and benefits to customers and business partners Proven sales experience with the ability to meet productions standards of $18 million in the past 12 months Established relationships with local referral partners (e.g., realtors, builders, attorneys, financial advisors or CPAs) Proven ability to self-source leads and to create profitable business relationships with referral partners Experienced in providing home financing to sophisticated clientele and dealing with complicated financial statements Proven sales and negotiation experience with the ability to meet production standards established by region or branch SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to customers and business partners Must possess strong technical aptitude (PC skills and Web-based applications) including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use database marketing Demonstrated customer service skills Demonstrated knowledge of the mortgage industry and loan structuring PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to move 15+ pounds Ability operate moving vehicle or have access to transportation Ability to stand/sit/walk for 6-8 hours a day EDUCATION College degree in related area, such as: finance, business, and marketing or equivalent business experience
Preferred Skills: • Strong credit/underwriting experience preferred • Proven producer that can continuously close $2M per month • 7+ years external mortgage origination experience; including a track record at developing relationships from referral sources; i.e. Real Estate professionals, builders, networking groups, professional associations, and financial professionals • Proven track record of $30M per year in sales • Previous experience in a Private Mortgage Banking environment and/or related affluent client base experience • Bi-lingual language skills
