Pendo Systems offers technology and investment accounting services and support services to a variety of financial Institutions. The Product Development Group develops the BasisPoint® investment accounting system, which is used by Pendo Systems’ customers to manage their financial assets.

The Software Architect will provide technical leadership on projects over a .NET platform and should have substantial experience in C# .NET development and a strong background in developing distributed multi-threaded systems. Ideal candidates will also have knowledge of C,C++, and COM/COM+ within their work history. The main purpose of this role is to lead a development team through software delivery from technical design and architecture definition, hands-on implementation,and presentation of technical design and strategy to business and technical audience.

Drive technical design and implementation Implement new business functionality in the BasisPoint system to meet business and customer requirements, working closely with customers and client services staff Participate in technical design reviews, functional specification reviews, and contribute to development project estimates, QA test plans, and code reviews. Provide ongoing development maintenance of existing application functionality, working closely with the client support teams to address issues that are escalated for resolution. Develop, trains, and coaches junior team members, including providing on-the-job training

Skills and Qualifications

4-year degree in a technical discipline. A CS degree a significant plus, MS also a plus. At least 7+ years programming experience in a professional environment Exceptional general knowledge of IT systems Exceptional programming skills in C#/.NET, COM, ASP a must. Experience with other programming languages a plus. Willingness to work with a diverse set of languages required. Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio Experience with MS Team Foundation and Visual Source Safe Experience utilizing the full range of Microsoft SQL Server products (SQL, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services) Experience in Configuration Management, Environment Management, Software Testing, and Software Development Systems design and architecture, especially distributed and internet-facing systems. Experience in the deployment of multi-tiered web applications. Systems integration, especially complex distributed systems with a large number of inter dependencies. Detailed knowledge of Client/ Server environments. Strong object oriented programming design skills. Knowledge of UML, design patterns/frameworks, etc. Data Modeling. Experience building institutional financial systems (buy-side or sell-side) or other related applications, especially in the fixed income markets and equities are a substantial plus. Performance Engineering, especially application and database performance optimization. Necessary skills include flexibility, ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to handle multiple tasks through prioritization and time management skills, excellent communication, exceptional collaboration and organizational skills. Detailed and through approach to problem solving.
