In the 1960’s Edwards’ Critical Care team worked with cardiologists Jeremy Swan and William Ganz to develop the first homodynamic monitoring system for critically ill patients. The Swan-Ganz products became highly successful and still maintain worldwide leadership position. 


This is an exciting position within a newly formed team to explore next generation hemodynamic monitoring devices and build upon Edwards’ 50 year track record of medical device innovation. This role will be a high level technical individual contributor focused on Systems Engineering for Patient Monitoring products from concept to market.

Responsibilities include:

Applying biomedical engineering, scientific, mathematical, signal processing, and human or animal physiology concepts to develop minimally invasive medical patient monitoring products.  Responsible for collecting laboratory, animal and human data, analyzing the data, drawing conclusions and preparing final reports and presentations.

Our Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 6-12 years experience working as a systems engineer with the medical device industry. Relevant medical device experience includes, Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Care, Capital Equipment, Pacing, ICD or Neuro Stimulation. A thorough understanding of cardiac/hemodynamic physiology and anatomy is highly desirable A bachelor's degree in biomedical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering with a strong background in mathematics is required. A master's or doctoral degree in biomedical engineering is preferred. A strong clinical and engineering communication skill set is needed to facilitate working with Edwards teams and executives, physician collaborators and principal investigators. Proficiency in statistical software, LabView, MatLab, and Microsoft Office is required.
