The Anchorage office of CH2M HILL has an immediate opening for a Senior Piping Engineer. This degreed engineering position will work in the upstream oil & gas operations to design new and modify existing oil and gas production facilities and associated pipelines that run from the wellhead in the North Slope to the tankers in Valdez, Alaska.   Senior Engineers provide design services for hydrocarbon piping systems. As a new employee in Anchorage you can expect 80 hours of formalized training and another 80 hours of informal training to familiarize yourself with our clients, processes and nuances of the artic environment. You’ll also be assigned a mentor to help you acclimate. Qualifications Basic Qualifications*A sense of adventure – it’s Alaska!* Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical degree from an accredited college or university. * Minimum fifteen years of hydrocarbon piping or pipeline design experience* Licensed Professional Engineer (any US state)* Familiar with ASME B31 codes* Must have prior experience working in an office environment* The incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Preferred Qualifications* Alaska P.E. registration status is preferred but not required * Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineer (BSME) or Chemical Engineering (BSChE) preferred but will consider other Engineering degrees if experienced in oil & gas* Previous experience on North Slope projects is a plus but not required* Master’s Degree in Engineering is preferred but not required* Prefer engineer experienced with ASME B31.4 code
