Position Description:

LSI is seeking a hardware design engineer for the Advanced Datapath Technology Team. Key responsibilities include architecture, system modeling, and implementation of high-speed datapath and security protocol hardware in ICs and FPGAs. You will work with a world-class design team - with skills ranging from software development to logic design to layout - and work on high-throughput security solutions. Responsibilities • Architect network protocol blocks for security applications • Perform system modeling with SystemC • Implement high-throughput security protocol blocks with an ASIC flow • Evaluate and recommend solutions to complement or enhance product offering • Explore architectural and implementation options with technical due diligence to meet schedule, cost, performance, and power constraints • Work with Marketing and Sales to translate market requirements to product design requirements Required Skills • Ability to break down and solve multi-dimensional problems using efficient and effective techniques and technologies • Creative problem solver • Algorithm development and optimization • In-depth expertise in system architecture • Can work independently with minimal direction • Very good organizational skills, self management skills, and the ability to multi-task • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills

Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of relevant technologies including security protocols, cryptography, key management/exchange • In-depth knowledge and experience with processor architecture and implementation • Transaction-level and behavioral modeling in SystemC • Object design with object-oriented programming languages • Product design from product definition to production ramp • 8 or more years of experience with hardware architecture, microarchitecture, logic design, verification, and design-for-test • RTL languages such as Verilog and VHDL • Hardware emulation with FPGAs • UNIX programming environment: scripting, software build flow • BS or MS in EE or CS. PhD a plus.
