The Principal Biomedical Engineer will have primary responsibility for engaging in fundamental in vitro and in vivo research that supports global R&D research technology and product development efforts related to soft tissue wound closure. Successful candidates will play an integral role in the development of new technology platforms and innovations by collaborating with cross functional R&D teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning and executing basic and applied research studies, technology assessment, investigating trends in surgery, defining pathways for the introduction of new technologies to devices, development and execution of proof of concept/ feasibility and performance studies, test protocol development and optimization, tissue/device interaction studies, and verification/validation initiatives. Requirements: Education: MS or PhD in Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering, or natural sciences Experience: 5+ years of Medical Device industry or related academic experience
