The Prevention & Training Coordinator reports to CONNSACS’ Director of Policy and Advocacy.
This job requires extensive in-state travel.
Specific Responsibilities
Develop and oversee annual goals and objectives for all prevention activities and develop strategies to meet those goals. Direct and coordinate state and national prevention grant activities and ensure that grant deliverables are met. Provide technical assistance and Coordinate Quarterly Primary Prevention meetings for CONNSACS’ member programs. Research and write fact sheets or materials that address sexual violence prevention/intervention, best practices, and other topics as assigned. Represent CONNSACS on state, community-based or national committees as assigned. Coordinate and serve as the lead trainer for CONNSACS’ workshops/trainings/conferences to health care providers, police cadets, or other state agency professionals and allies regarding best practices and emerging trends in sexual violence prevention/intervention. Develop and implement curricula, workshops, conference themes and media materials that address sexual violence Work with the Director of Policy and Advocacy regarding proposed administrative and legal public policy initiatives in the area of prevention.
Special Projects
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Policy and Advocacy. Coordinate the Connecticut College Consortium Against Sexual Assault.
Qualifications Preferred
BA/BS degree in related field or three years of full-time related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to women's issues, particularly violence against women issues. Demonstrated knowledge and leadership in primary prevention initiatives. Experience in event planning and public speaking. Experience in training curriculum development, training adults, and group facilitation. Experience with sexual violence service delivery system and social advocacy. Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts of public health. Demonstrated knowledge of program evaluation methods and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of Power Point. Computer literacy.

SALARY RANGE: $30,000 - $45,000
