We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Polymer Scientist to relocate to the US and join a leading global integrated biopharmaceutical company. As Polymer Chemist you will be based at the company's facility in Salt Lake City, Utah and will be responsible for the optimisation and manufacturing scale-up of biodegradable polymer synthesis and polymer based controlled release drug formulation processes. Principal responsibilities will include : - Scale down synthesis and characterisation of various biodegradable polymers and copolymers - Optimisation of polymer synthesis and formulation processes - Scale-up of synthetic process from lab scale to manufacturing scale - Transfer of R&D lab synthesis process for manaufacturing scale - Formulation, characterisation and evaluation of polymer based controlled release drug formulations. To be considered for this role you will have : - Bachelor or Master degree in polymer chemistry, chemistry, pharmaceutics or similar - Substantive experience in pharmaceutical or related industry with major emphasis on synthesis and characterisation of biodegradable polymers and copolymers for biomedical applications - Knowledge of process scale-up and modern analytical methods used for the physicochemical characterisation of polymers and polymer based controlled release drug formulations - Knowledge of cGMP processes for pharmaceutical applications - Previous experience with polymer based controlled release drug formulations and their evaluation for parenteral application is desirable.
