Armstrong Floor Products, a division of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., is seeking a Plant Controller to manage all finance/accounting aspects of our manufacturing plant located in Beverly, WV. Partnering with the site manager the controller will be accountable for successfully managing the operations and meeting financial objectives.  The incumbent must adhere to our guiding principles of integrity, commitment, and excellence.  In this position, the plant controller is accountable for a variety of duties and must be able to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization.

 Armstrong World Industries, Inc. is a global leader in the manufacture of hard surface flooring, ceilings, and cabinets.  Based in Lancaster, PA, Armstrong operates 48 plants in 10 countries.  The Armstrong Floor Products (AFP) team, manufactures resilient sheet and tile, solid and engineered wood, linoleum, and specialty flooring.   Primary Duties Month-end closing responsibilities including reporting and analyzing variances to budget and forecast for the plant management team and divisional leadership Account analysis and reconciliation Preparing detailed monthly forecasts for the full year based upon the production drivers and key performance metrics at the facility Leading a weekly review of prior week and month to date estimates versus budget and forecast with the plant management team Inventory control and reconciliation, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to cycle count procedures and/or leading the annual physical inventory Fixed asset control and reconciliation including the conducting of the  physical inventory counts every three years Management of the capital project process at facility including the reviewing and approving of capital project requests, identifying obsolescence and project expenses, preparing financial justifications, and ensuring timely creation of assets in SAP Prepare economic cost studies for projects concerning new or existing products, manufacturing processes, equipment, or facilities Annual review and audit of internal control procedures in order to sustain SOX compliance and to manage/minimize financial risk at the facility Prepare and develop the annual plant budget including developing standards, updating the standards and period expense budgets in SAP, and Nafta compliance Support the plant in generating or quantifying cost savings opportunities and support the plant management team in the implementation of cost reduction initiatives Develop professional skills of other accounting staff Support and lead the coordination of all plant internal and external financial and operational audits and address any audit findings with plant and divisional leadership Respond quickly and accurately to customer requests, including special projects and other duties or analysis as requested by plant or divisional The ideal candidate will have progressed through manufacturing finance operations and be knowledgeable of cost savings opportunities, development of accounting staff, economic cost studies for new or existing products and manufacturing processes.  S/he will have demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and plant optimization. We are looking for the leader who enjoys being part of a dynamic manufacturing organization and seeks to play an active role on the plant leadership team.    Requirements Bachelor degree in accounting or Bachelor degree in finance with accounting through cost and intermediate Graduate degree and/or CMA, CPA or other professional certification preferred 10 - 15 years accounting experience in a repetitive product manufacturing environment with a minimum of five years experience as a plant controller. Proven operational leadership, especially in implementing and supporting change Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to share knowledge at appropriate levels of the organization Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills including the ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all levels of plant and corporate personnel Advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience with SAP preferred  With approximately 17 acres under roof, our Beverly Plant manufactures solid wood floor products and is the largest Kiln facility east of the Mississippi.
