A full-time opportunity is available for a Planned Giving Director at Lifespan Health System, based in Providence, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will report to the Senior Vice President of Development.
Lifespan is a $1 billion not-for-profit health system that includes three teaching hospitals of Brown Medical School: Rhode Island Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital; The Miriam Hospital; and Bradley Hospital, the nation’s oldest psychiatric hospital for children. Lifespan also includes Newport Hospital, a community-based hospital in Newport, RI.
Under general direction of the Senior Vice President of Development, raises funds for Lifespan and subsidiary organizations through a comprehensive planned giving program. Works individually and cooperatively with volunteers and development staff to increase volume of bequests, life income, and other planned gifts. Develops and implements marketing programs for planned giving on affiliate-specific and system-wide basis. Oversees planned gift administration; works with planned giving committees, development officers and other leadership volunteers.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Five years professional experience in the development field including experience in all areas of estate planning and charitable giving. Experience must demonstrate thorough knowledge of current and impending tax laws related to charitable giving. Prior management responsibility for planned giving program preferred.
